Pakistani Hindus Celebrate Raksha Bandhan

Hyderabad-Pakistan; Raksha Bandhan is a Holy Religious festival of Hindus in which a sister ties up a Rakhi(a piece of thread) on the hand of her brother, and the brother ensures the protection of his sister. In a minority of Hindus in Pakistan, people observe this festival with spiritual values and customs. After tying Rakhi ceremony and the Pooja, the brother presents his sister with the presents.

History States that this festival derived from the incident of Draupati and Krishna where got his finger injured and Draupati tied it with a piece of cloth of her sari to stop the flow of the blood. Thus people celebrate it to recall those memories.

Pakistani Hindus celebrate this festival with enthusiasm, they state that they are free to perform their religious obligations. And a patriot Pakistani Hindu says that there is no Raksha Bandhan without Pakistan.
