Well, Yes! It is certainly not an ordinary day in the history of Pakistan, specially the September 6, 2008. Many events and incidents occurred this day, let’s discuss and analyze this day. It was quite a good start for me because it’s my birthday and of course the 44th defence day of Pakistan.

But many mark able incidents happened that are not forgettable.

1)  Asif Ali Zardari elected as the 11th President of Pakistan with the 2/3 majority. The polling was held in the National Assembly including all Provincial Assemblies. Zardari secured 481 votes, whereas PML N candidate Syed-uz-Zaman  Sidiqqui and PML Q candidate Mushahid Hussain Sayed secured 153 and 43 votes. So it was the clear majority in favor of Zardari.

2) A suicide blast on Kohat Road in Peshawar, about 25 innocent people had to lose their lives. This incident is indeed a challenge for the newly elected President.

3)  Mianwali; A school van slipped into the canal claiming the lives of 20 innocent students. PM Shahbaz Sharif has shown his regrets on this incident.

After these incidents, I can only hope to move on and pray to Allah for the betterment and safety of the country.
