I am late in writing about the promotion campaigns of Wateen after it’s relaunch recently. The relaunch ads I have been watching on TV are non impressive to me. They sound cliched and doesn’t seem to have some unique idea. I was kinda disappointed because relaunch ads aren’t upto the standard they had set back in 2007 when they started their launch campaigns, those TV ads were quite impressive. But the new TV ads doesn’t seem to be upto the mark.
Take this ad for example, I find this to be the lousiest one.
One thing I’d like to appreciate is that Wateen has diversified the advertising media, they have chosen to advertise online. Unlike many other giant ad agencies, Wateen seem to know that ‘Online’ doesn’t mean Facebook only. Wateen tried to cater maximum possible web surfers from Pakistan by advertising on the websites that are most visited in Pakistan.
So keeping these things in view, I think I’d rate their relaunch campaign 6 out of 10
