As the year 2010 begins, the experts from the industry have begin sharing their experiences about the outsourcing of the IT business. CIO Magazine, one of the international data giants posted an article titled “The 25 Most Dangerous Cities for Offshore Outsourcing” discussing the potential danger that can occur if outsourced to the following destinations. The list of the riskiest locations that they are populating is as follows:
1. Bogota, Colombia
2. Bangkok, Thailand
3. Johannesburg, South Africa
4. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
5. Kingston, Jamaica
6. Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon, India
7. Manila/Cebu/Makita, Philippines
8. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
9. Mumbai, India
10. Jerusalem, Israel
11. Curitiba, Brazil
12. Dalian, China
13. Juarez, Mexico
14. Brasilia, Brazil
15. Chandigarh, India
16. Colombo, Sri Lanka
17. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
18. Quezon City, Philippines
19. Accra, Ghana
20. Pune, India
21. Chennai, India
22. Hanoi, Vietnam
23. Bangalore, India
24. Hyderabad, India
25. Kolkata, India
India and Philippines are considered to be the hot-spots for the lowest cost IT and BPO outsourcing. If you read the above list, you’ll notice that no less then 8 destinations of India and 2 of the Philippines have been listed as the most riskiest destination.
The author of the article warns of outsourcing to the mentioned locations and says:
“If you have an outsourcing contract for work in Bogota, Colombia, Bangkok, Thailand, or Johannesburg, South Africa, you should be aware that they rank as the riskiest offshore outsourcing destinations in the world. Locations in India and Brazil also made this inauspicious list. Where do you outsource?”
The answer to the author’s question is Pakistan ! That’s right. In spite of the several security threats within the country, Pakistan has real unsung talent that makes it one of the hot-spots in BPO outsourcing. I am not kidding, people who enjoy low cost and high quality outsourcing services in Pakistan know this deep down.
