Since the beginning of 2010, Pepsi have been working on rolling out new look and feel of their brand including a tweaked logo. The initial ad did quite a good job in creating the updated brand awareness. The ad featured a beautiful jingle and the overall theme was based on young passion and determination. Why don’t you have a look at it again?
Half a month after the initial ad, another lovely ad was rolled out. Pepsi featured the heartthrobs of the young talent of Pakistan such as Assam ul Haq (Tennis Player), Mohammad Aamir (Bowler/Cricketer) and Musicians of Call Band. The ad features a heart touching inspirational song of Call Band. The ad speaks of hope, determination and spirit and reminds us that whatever is the case, the spirits must be alive.
It seems like this campaign has just worked for them as the overall idea behind the promotional ad creation seems to have successfully reached the audience. I’ll come to some critical analysis below, while I am writing down those, you watch this ad meanwhile.
So everything is so good so far? Until you have a look at that ugly URL they advertise at the end of the ad, i.e. www.pepsiworldpk.com. That might look okay to you but is seriously unprofessional URL to me. I mean a corporation like Pepsi should have struggled for pepsi.pk or pepsi.com.pk or something similar. The first look of the website might suggest that it is an interactive website but then you’ll realize that those are just the static banners hanging out on the website. Nevertheless they have integrated the social media on it and it doesn’t look all that bad.
