Around 2 years ago, when US drone attacks within Pakistani soul were at their peak, I felt a need of collective protest from Pakistani bloggers and thus the Pakistan Bloggers Movement was born. Soon we saw a protest badge on almost every Pakistani blog which was heard by the mainstream international media and the protest was successfully recorded.
The movement became inactive due to lack of organizing stuff and lack of time. But I feel now is the time we need such movement the most. This will be the way we can initiate collective activism for the betterment of the society.
So much to do which the mainstream media is ignoring. Such as there’s a hype about floods in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa but did you know that the condition in Balochistan is much worse? Even in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, it’s much worse then the mainstream media portrays.
So here I am again initiating the movement with a slight different name i.e. BAMP (Bloggers Action Movement Pakistan)formerly PBM (Pakistan Bloggers Movement). Please all you Pakistani bloggers out there, do join hands and let’s show unity.
I am yet to prepare the manifesto of the BAMP but let me tell you shortly, the BAMP is going to be absolutely non-profit and non-political movement. The sole intent is going to bring a better change in the society through the online and offline activism.
To initiate the campaign, I myself will be visiting Islamabad for various campaigns and also will visit KP and Balochistan to support the relief work. I hope all goes well.
