A rare pink diamond which is considered as one of the purest in the world has been auctioned at a luxurious lake side resort for a world record price of 47 million dollars. Sotheby the jewelery company auctioning the rare jewel had estimated its price between 24 and 38 million dollars but the price soared to whopping 47 million with buyers showing great interest in flawless emerald cut gemstone. The beautiful pink diamond sits in ring which is perfectly wearable . It was last seen on the market about 60 years ago when it was sold by legendary US jeweler Harry Winston and kept in a private collection since then, a feature that is adding to its value. It is worth mentioning that pink diamonds were first discovered in India and since then they have been the most sought after item for the jewel collectors around the world.
