After 61 years of partition, people are now stepping towards solving the problems and becoming united as a single nation. Having realized that Pakistani is a culturally enriched state having people from different ethnic backgrounds, we have an ethnic group called Bangalis. They are the people who migrated to then West Pakistan at the time of Partition. We have about 2,000,000 Bangalis in Pakistan.

In 1971, when East Pakistan got separated and became Bangladesh, these pro-Pakistani Bangalis resisted and remained loyal to Pakistan. But those Bangalis have still been treated as if they are traitors. But now the things are changing and Bangalis are given proper statuses as the awareness is being raised by the media. One such step is taken by Hum TV Pakistan, they have produced a drama serial called “Aashti” to depict the condition and circumstances of Pakistani Bangalis.
