For almost 4 decades, the brother-sister act Nazia and Zoheb hassan have dominated the pop/disco music scene of Indo-Pakistan subcontinent. Well now, taking the legacy forward, Nazia Hassan’s niece and Zoheb Hassan’s daughter Allyana Zoheb Hassan has entered the music industry by recording her first song.
This was announced on social media by none other than the proud father himself.

Nazia and Zoheb’s fans have always wondered if Nazia’s only son Arez Hassan or any of Zoheb’s four children will enter the music industry. Well, this is the good news now.
We hope that Allyana will be known for her own originality and is able to make her own mark instead of being known as Nazia’s niece and Zoheb’s daughter in future…for which, we wish her all the best.

It’s worth mentioning here that a few months ago, when a reporter asked Nazia’s son Arez Hassan whether he was interested in breaking into the music industry, he had responded by saying he was thinking about it and that it could happen. If that happens, would we be able to see another singing duo Arez-Allyana or maybe even a trio Arez-Allyana-Zoheb? Who knows, right? But we’re just excited for Allyana.
Nazia Hassan and Zoheb Hassan are credited for introducing the disco and pop genre to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh subcontinent back in 1970s, an era when the subcontinent hadn’t had its own music with that kind of foreign flavour.
Nazia and Zoheb topped all major charts in India, Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK) with their first couple of albums. Some of the most popular songs to date are Disco Deewane, Dosti, Dum Dum Dee Dee, Sunn Mere Mehbood Sunn, Aag among many others.
After Nazia’s tragic demise in 2001, Zoheb Hassan has launched 2 solo albums and performed in Coke Studio alongside Zoe Viccaji but fans have always missed the duo act Nazia and Zoheb.
