Famous for unusual titles of Ramazan transmission, televangelist ‘Dr’ Aamir Liaquat is hosting one of the most glamorous Ramazan transmissions and this year’s title is “Ramazan Sharif”. When he announced the name of the transmission a few days back, I was joking around with colleagues that’s Liaquat probably named this transmission after Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. Turns out, it wasn’t a joke, Aamir Liaquat actually named the Ramazan Sharif transmission after the army chief.

He told this live on Geo News today. Watch the video below:

Aamir Liaquat said that he was dedicating this transmission to the army and General Sharif because of their fight against terrorism.

It’s interesting because Liaquat was one of the anchors who had left Geo when it was accused being of anti-army and therefore ‘anti-Pakistan’ last year. Geo was even banned in the cantonment areas in the country. Perhaps Aamir Liaquat will now try to repair Geo’s strained relations with the men in boots.

The Ramazan Sharif song

I personally feel Liaquat hasn’t come up with a catchy tune after 2012 and the trend continues this year as well. The Ramazan Sharif song carries a stark resemblance to the Ramazan Assalam song from 2006 transmission.
